David Hicks gets the MTV Cribs treatment, starring and by my mate Dan Ilic of "Ronnie Johns Half Hour" fame.

What David id supposed to have done is heinous. About as heinous as imprisoning someone in Guantanamo Bay for years without charges or a trial.

Whatever the hell he did (as he's now pleading guilty), I hardly think it's any worse than what he's been subjected to over the last 5 years.

I've been thinking about Hicksy.. It's beyond me why he'd train with the Al Queda anyway. You'd have to be stupid or actually a terrorist.

But everyone screws up and it seems like everyone's mistakes are becoming more and more deliberate and a whole lot more costly. G.W. Bush doesn't stop causing problems and everyone's sick of this bloody circus that is the War on Terror.

Problem is, If Hicks didn't get captured and he plotted blowing up the MCG or Sydney or something, I know I'd want him in Guantanamo for the rest of his life. There's just no way to prevent these things happening.

He should be kept in prison for 20 or so years. A real prison. Not a torture camp. No-one should be tortured, unless you rape someone.

Precisely. Unfortunate, but then if we start locking people up based upon what they might be capableof doing, we have a massive problem.

My only issue with the whole situation is the denial of basic rights. If they were so sure that he was guilty of something, then CHARGE him with something.

Even the normal justice system doesn't take 5 years to get to a court case - I can't imagine the military equivalent being that busy?

As the vid says "The right to a fair trial is no joke." But if he's guilty (which he has claimed to be, but that could easily be a "get me out of here" plea) - then put him away. Forever. And then some.

Yeah it's an absolute circus. I hate the justice system ( not that I can think of anything better, but still, it's flawed ). Hicks should have been on trial years ago and then locked in Guantanamo if he was guilty. I don't care if they torture people - just as long as the people there have actually done something wrong, beyond the shadow of a doubt. I'd love to see it full of rapists. Those sick bastards should be hung from the highest tree.
