Digg This!
April 12th 2007 21:17
OK - so some of you know what it's all about. For those that don't, this is a breif primer from the BBC.
The upshot of it all is that if you can get a blog article onto the Digg.com front page, you're almost guaranteed a server meltdown. Ahmed has succeeded before. How does it happen - the more people digg an article, the more chance it has of hitting the front page.
For those of you trying to make a few cents through AdSense - traffic makes sense. For those of you who do it for fun - surely it's more fun if there are people reading!?
I hereby rally the forces of Orble to band together and form The Orble Digg Posse. You'll already find a couple of us on there, but if we all start digging each other's posts (which we already have been doing - you might already find your stuff on there), then we might get your post some serious traffic.
Hit digg.com, signup (maybe with your Orble tag so we can spot you?) and let's really get the democratic thing going.
CAN YOU DIGG IT?!

Remember, it isn't a democracy if you just digg it for the sake of it, this isn't a digg and return the favor kind of thing. If you do that your site will probably get banned eventually and you'll start crying at what might have been (seriously, mindorgasms.com will so get banned
But yeah, get to the frontpage, stay there, make 45000 hits and... $13 Addollars

Well said, Ahmed. And certainly not the intention. People should be digging stuff they feel good enough to want to try and get a massive audience for.
We all have our moments

Well, I don't write any earth shattering posts to warrant getting...um...shoveled to the top (Stephen Larkham is a Rugby God is old news...) but I'm happy to join ODP...I would love to see some Orblers receive the accolades they deserve...MindOrgasms included.
cue: Ripleys Believe It Or Not theme
I actually agree with you Ahmed.
Hope you are well Yoda76

yeah you know me!
i'm down with odp, and i actually started an account after i read ahmed's referal of cib's transformers review - mainly to check out what it was.
but i'm not all that certain it is going to benefit us? it seems like there is a massive ladder to climb to get anywhere. that's just my impression from one crack at it.
b.t.w. i noticed your 'it's a big ad' and dugg it. you might know me as dhutchman there.

Nice work - see you on Digg. I did a search for Dusk and got about a million hits - be sure and let us know who you are
;o)
BTW - I can't quite remember what the theme to Ripley's was - for some reason I keep getting "Greatest American Hero" when I try and remember...

Good to see you. Thanks - keep digging!
Jonathon
I was steering clear of the Naughty by Nature reference, but I guess it was unavoidable ;o)
It seems like a massive ladder, you are right, but you gotta be in it to win it, as they say...
Thanks for the digg - we shot our interview for episode 3 yesterday, so there will be a new podcast out in the next couple of weeks... stay iTuned...
I know - that was bad...

Most important thing is you befriend people who digg your content, they at least have some interest in what you submit, second most important thing is you digg *there* stuff, be nice.
Also you don't *have* to get as far as the frontpage to get 25000 hits (like I did... twice
btw, mindorgasms doesn't really stand a chance, hard enough to get literature through (Digg is mainly focused on tech/interesting news) but with the amount of profanities mot of the *content* is present odds are it will end p black listed long before it even tastes the upcoming page. But meh, worth a shot I guess.
There was one instance of a short story getting to the frontpage, had terrible formatting too, except it didn't involve fucking women or 'why I such and such' or basically anything to do with what you see on Mind Orgasms. It was just a really interesting story.

Looks like your browser's gone a little screwy, Ahmed. I've deleted the 6 duplicate posts...
Who needs digg.com for a server meltdown when you've got a box with glasses?
...with Vista...
;o)
